9 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3a testicul 9 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3a testicular cancer. Itā€™s hard to believe it all really happened to me, and it wasnā€™t just a story I read about someone else. There are still bruise marks on my arm from my chemo IV. My hearing isnā€™t what it used to be, my lungs are probably damaged from chemo, and I will always have scars from surgery. But I would go through it again if I had to. Itā€™s all been worth it - to breathe again, to chase our girls around. To dream and have hope for the future. Even to have the really hard days. Why? Because I can wake up to a new day and try again, and let Godā€™s grace wash over my life. Iā€™m just so grateful to be here. In honor of World Cancer Day today, I would be remiss if I did not use this platform to encourage everyone to keep tabs on their body and health. Do your regular self checks on the testicular and breast region (and any other key locations), and if you notice anything, make the appointment to get checked out.
